Bay Sailors  A Tampa Bay Sailing Club for Singles

Calendar of Events—last updated on August 27, 2010

Deadlines: Sail deadlines are usually the Wednesday before the weekend sail. Other deadlines may apply; refer to the newsletter and the Cruise Coordinator is the final authority.

Special Sails: Not listed in the newsletter. These are announced at monthly meetings. Usually these have registration/cancellation dates of the first Wednesday general meeting.

Events and Costs: Information listed here is the most recent available to the webmaster. But events, times, dates and prices may change. The Cruise Coordinator is the final authority. Members receive sailing vouchers with membership and may buy additional ones.

Day Sail: What it says. usually leave around 10 and come back around 4-5. Usual cost is one voucher.

Anchor Out: Boat anchors someplace overnight. Usual cost is two vouchers (sort of like two back-to-back day sails).

Dock & Dine: Overnight trip where boat ties up in a marina so crew may eat ashore, enjoy a pool and have dockside power for the air-conditioning. Because there is a slip rental fee, this usually costs three vouchers and the club subsidizes the difference.

International Cruises: Once a year we make a week of it in some foreign land. See the information below, right.

All events except the monthly general meeting are for members only. No walk-ins, no visitors, no guests, unless otherwise specified. Full details are in your newsletter.

September: (NOTE: Our day-sail and overnight weekends are reversed this month so we can have a longer sail over Labor Day.)

Click here for directions and map.

Note about prices: we can order the "early bird" items before 7 p.m. but after that the flat dinner price prevails ($17 plus tax/tip). Drinks will all be at full standard prices, though we retain our own bar and bartender.

1 (Wed):Board Meeting: Board will meet for a short session before the regular members meeting. No board meeting on 21 September. With so many board members on the trip to France, we would not have a quorum.

These are 2 or 3-day overnights depending upon the assigned boat. Calling all Bay Sailors:
Send a card!

Make a call!

Our ex-commodore and all-around great guy, Allen Fiske, is having ongoing medical problems (and may need additional surgery) that has prevented him from living on his boat and living his dream of sailing.

Allen could use some contact and encouragement from club members.  Cards, phone calls all would be good to help keep his spirits up and let him know that people care.

He's currently living at his mother's at 2612 67th St. W., Bradenton, FL 34209.  His cell phone is (305) 720-7494.
