On the Horizon:

2012 will be another great sailing year! We're working on more international cruises for 2012. More info to your right on this page.

Deadlines: for signing up for or cancelling are usually:
Any sail that month: If you attend the monthly general meeting you may sign up then. This is the only exception to the Mondays-deadlines rule.

Day sails: the Monday before the weekend sail.

Overnight sails: the Monday before the next weekend's sail.

Other deadlines may apply; refer to the newsletter, and the Cruise Coordinator is the final authority.

Special Sails: Not listed in the newsletter. These are announced at monthly meetings. Registration/cancellation dates will vary.

Events and Costs: Information listed here is the most recent available to the webmaster. But events, times, dates and prices may change. The Cruise Coordinator is the final authority. Members receive sailing credits with membership and may buy additional ones.

Day Sail: What it says. usually leave around 10 and come back around 4-5. Usual cost is one sailing credit.

Anchor Out: Boat anchors someplace overnight. Usual cost is two sailing credits (sort of like two back-to-back day sails).

Dock & Dine: Overnight trip where boat ties up in a marina so crew may eat ashore, enjoy a pool and have dockside power for the air-conditioning. Because there is a slip rental fee, this usually costs three sailing credits and the club subsidizes the difference.

International Cruises: We do annual (or more often) week-long trips. On these trips, we typically charter one 50-foot boat per eight members. Members spilt the entire cost of the charter and pay their own air fares. No club funds are used for these trips.

We're currently planning three international trips for 2012. For full details or cost breakdowns, call Carol Callier.

British Virgin Islands (BVIs) April 28-May 5. Costs estimated at about $2000 per person total.

Italy (Amalfi Coast) June 16-23. Costs estimated at about $3000 per person total.

Chesapeake Bay in mid-September. No specifics yet.

Recent international trips:
2011 — Grenada, St. Vincent, Grenadines
2010 — Southern France canals.
2009 — San Juan Islands, Washington state
2008 — St. Martin
2008 — Croatia/Dalmatian Coast
