Join Bay Sailors

Bay Sailors welcomes anyone to its membership who is interested in sailing, is single (defined as one who has no legal impediments to marriage), over 21 years of age, and who is physically able to maneuver in tight quarters. Although helpful, no prior sailing experience is required.

Application forms for membership are available at the monthly general meetings, held the first Wednesday of each month, at Tucson's restaurant, located in the ICOT Center at the intersection of Icot Boulevard and Ulmerton Rd., just east of US 19 in Clearwater, Florida. (Click here for map)

If you wish for the Cruise Coordinator to keep your sailing vouchers on file for you, indicate that with a note accompanying the membership application. Then you may e-mail the Cruising Coordinator to sign up for a sail. Read the SIGN UP FOR A SAIL web page for details.

Fiscal years run July 1 to June 30. All members renew on July 1.

First-time members joining during the year may have their fees pro-rated on the following schedule:

• First-time members joining July-September: $130
• First-time members joining October-December: $120
• First-time members joining January-March: $110
• First-time members joining April-June: $100

These prices INCLUDE:

• A one-time $30 initiation fee and
• 6 sailing vouchers valued at $10 apiece and
• Our "First Mate's Training Program" on CD-Rom.

Annual fee for renewing members:
- $100 membership, payable by July 1 of each year.
- Includes 6 sailing vouchers valued at $10 apiece.

Renewing or lapsed members must pay the full annual membership fee of $100 no matter when during the year they renew.

Waiver for participating skippers:
- Fee is waived for skippers who volunteer their boat in club events and who have completed 6 days on the water, for the club, during the previous fiscal year.

Additional sailing vouchers may be purchased at any time for $10 each. If you do not renew by July 1st, you may still renew your membership during any month of any year through June 30th by paying the annual dues of $100.00.

Only Active Members are entitled to participate in sailing and Bay Sailors’ sponsored events, vote at membership meetings, take part in working committees, and seek a seat on the Board of Directors.
