'though we're often near the front of the buffet line
takes us a while to sail very far

Membership includes "credits" that you use to pay for sails. See the explanation at the right here. To go sailing, you may come to the monthly meeting, or telephone the Cruising Coordinator to sign up for a sail. Read the SIGN UP FOR A SAIL web page for details.

Fiscal years run July 1 to June 30. All continuing members renew effective July 1 while new members have fee prorated as follows:

First-time members joining during the year may have their fees pro-rated on the following schedule:

First-time members joining July-September: Pay $130 and receive 6 sailing credits.

First-time members joining October-December: $120 and receive 6 sailing credits.

First-time members joining January-March: Pay $90 and receive 4 sailing credits.

First-time members joining April-June: Pay $60 and receive 2 sailing credits.

These prices INCLUDE:

- A one-time $30 initiation fee.
- A first-year membership which expires at the end of the fiscal year (June 30) and which is pro-rated for new members joining later in the fiscal year.
- Credits for sailing. The number received is pro-rated for new members joining later in the fiscal year.

Annual fee for renewing members:
- $100 membership, payable by July 1 of each year includes 6 sailing credits valued at $10 apiece.

Renewing or lapsed members must pay the full annual membership fee of $100 no matter when during the year they renew.

Our Sailing-Credit System

Membership includes "credits" that you use to pay for sails. A credit is good for one day sail. Overnights may cost 2 or more credits.

Credits for sailing are good for three years, including the year issued, after which they expire. Possession of sailing credits alone does not entitle you to go sailing; you must also be a current member.

The credits are tracked electronically by the Cruise Coordinator. The number you receive varies with when during the fiscal year you joined. You may purchase more at any time from the Treasurer.

Waiver for participating skippers:

Membership fee is waived for skippers who volunteer their boat in club events and who have completed 6 days on the water, for the club, during the previous fiscal year.

Additional sailing credits may be purchased at any time for $10 each. If you do not renew by July 1st, you may still renew your membership during any month by paying the annual dues of $100.00. This renewal membership is not prorated; it is a flat fee no matter when during the fiscal year you renew.

Only Active Members are entitled to participate in sailing and Bay Sailors' sponsored events, vote at membership meetings, take part in working committees, or seek a seat on the Board of Directors.
